OUR STORY

The Ministry of Energy and Transport (MoET) was established in 2023, following a cabinet reshuffle designed to address national priorities. As part of this realignment, energy was added to a newly defined portfolio led by Hon. JoBeth Coleby-Davis, empowering the Ministry to tackle key challenges in the energy sector and drive transformative initiatives in transportation.

The MoET is focused on advancing sustainable energy policies, modernizing public transit, and ensuring reliable, accessible services across The Bahamas. Permanent Secretary

Mrs. Donella Bodie serves as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Transport, overseeing the strategic implementation of policies and programmes within the energy and transport sectors. With a distinguished career in public service, she ensures that the Ministry's initiatives align with national objectives, fostering sustainable development and operational excellence.

Betty Kerr 

Deputy Permanent Secretary

Ms. Betty Kerr holds the position of Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Energy and Transport, supporting the Permanent Secretary in executing the Ministry's mandate. Her role involves coordinating various departmental functions, and facilitating inter-agency collaboration.
